Petition for Keeping the Bistro Portal's Hotel-Only System

Dear Amadeus Team,

 

Since we have been using the Bistro portal as travel agents we have collected all the issues we have been facing with the new Hotels & More system.

 

To be completely honest, it genuinely feels as though no feedback was requested from professionals who work with these tools daily. We would therefore like to summarize our experience and highlight why the new system is — and we apologize for the wording — essentially unusable for B2B work.

 

We have a highly efficient system in place, tailored specifically to B2B needs. Bistro has always been transparent, easy to use, and incredibly fast. By entering just a few parameters, we receive precisely the information we need, without unnecessary details, without overwhelming visuals, and without confusing layers of menus.

 

Whether we are searching for all hotels in a destination or just one specific property, we can obtain clean, relevant, accurate information within seconds. This efficiency is critical: we price 50–100 hotels a day, and speed and clarity are essential for serving our clients.

In contrast, the new Hotels & More interface not only fails to support our workflow but significantly hinders it. Allow us to share a few clear examples:


  • The essential price comparison function simply does not work. In the old system, when pricing, it displayed all tour operatour's in a list for a selected hotel.
  • Room types and meal plans are displayed in a confusing and inconsistent way.
  • In the Maldives, transfer types — which are absolutely crucial — are missing entirely.
  • Even when we know the exact hotel name, it takes three times longer to find it and obtain a price than in Bistro. Realistically, the system would only be workable if we prepared one offer a day.
  • If we do not remember the exact hotel name, the search takes not three times longer, but four times longer.
  • After filtering by destination, we can no longer directly search by hotel name. We must return to the start and re-enter the exact name. In Bistro, typing just “Four” instantly displayed every hotel worldwide containing that word — extremely helpful when clients only vaguely remember a past stay.
  • When searching for Turkish hotels, Bistro only required selecting the country; all hotels appeared automatically. In the new system we are forced to guess between regions like Inland, Black Sea Coast, or others — and German tour operators often use different regional definitions, making the search even more complicated.
  • If a client is unsure between Maldives or Mauritius, we can no longer simply display all options in the Indian Ocean. We must instead guess the naming logic of each region in Hotels & More, as broader geographic categories no longer exist.

These are not minor inconveniences; they fundamentally prevent us from working efficiently. Instead of the simple, clean, and fast system that B2B users genuinely need, we received an interface overloaded with images and visual elements that are unnecessary in our daily workflow — hotel websites already provide photos.

 

What we need is speed, clarity, and structure, not visual noise, what we already get from the old Bistro Portal’s hotel only system.

 

Bistro has always supported everyday agency work superbly. For example, when searching for “Spice Hotel & Resort,” knowing only that it is in Belek, Bistro allows us to enter “Turkey” and “Spice” and instantly see whether the hotel is closed, under renovation, or open for future booking periods. In the new system, unless we know all details exactly, we cannot find these information.

 

In summary, shutting down Bistro and replacing it with the current Hotels & More platform makes our work extremely difficult, simply impossible. We are confident that the intention was not to replace a fully functional system with one that significantly ususable — yet unfortunately this is the practical result.

 

We therefore kindly but firmly ask that the Hotels Only (Bistro) platform continue to remain available in its current form. We do not wish to use the Hotels & More system, and certainly not pay for it. If Amadeus chooses to keep it alongside Hotels Only, that is of course your decision; however, for our daily work only the current Hotels Only interface is suitable and aligned with B2B needs.

 

We sincerely hope that you will take user experience and professional feedback into consideration. Please be so kind as to reconsider what the actual goal is — We hope it is not to make our work as users impossible.

 

As professionals working in a travel agency, we hope for positive future cooperation, using the Bistro Portal we have relied on so far, along with the hotel-only function.
